Reduction Cleaning Agent Organic Intermediate Thiourea Dioxide CAS 1758-73-2 Photographic emulsion sensitizer
Introduction:
Thiourea dioxide is also known as carboxamidine sulfinic acid and aminoiminomethanesulfinic acid. It is a stable compound with neither oxidizing nor reducing properties. It is precipitated from ethanol as colorless to white needle-shaped crystals or crystalline powder. It is odorless. Relative molecular weight 108.12. Relative density 1.4. Melting point 126℃ (decomposition). The solubility in water at room temperature is 2% to 3%, and the aqueous solution is neutral or weakly alkaline. It decomposes at 50-60℃ or in alkali solution, and sulfinic acid and urea are released. It is soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, slightly soluble in acetic acid, and insoluble in general organic solvents. The product is stable when dry and low temperature; it is easy to turn yellow under high temperature and humid conditions, and releases heat, and precipitates are generated above 30℃. The oral LD50 of rats is 2260mg/kg.
Uses:
As a reducing agent, thiourea dioxide is widely used in the printing and dyeing industry for wool bleaching, dyeing with vat dyes and sulphur dyes, reducing detergents for disperse dyeing, and discharge decolorants. In organic synthesis, it is used to reduce ketones, quinones, nitro, azo, azoxy, azoxy, sub-azo compounds and organic sulfides. Thiourea dioxide is also used as various decolorizing agents, a sensitizer for photographic latex, a chemical reagent for separating rare metals rhodium and iridium, and can improve the stability of polyethylene. Adding thiourea dioxide to the evaporation process of polyacrylonitrile and polymerization can improve the color of polyacrylonitrile, and is an important supporting product for synthetic fiber production. This product is also widely used in the production of fine chemical products such as medicines and spices.
